Nascar,Camping,Beer & 4 wheel drivesIt don't get any better than that January 14 Purchased a '95 Dutchmen 1002xs Back in Dec. I was searching the craiglist for pop up campers and ran across this 95 dutchmen. Living in Norman out by Lake Thunderbird it was quite a drive to Mustang. I, however, decided to go take a look at it. The price was exactly what I had to purchase a new pop up and I was having a hard time with a dealership I was working with on a 89 Coleman Williamsburg. Never could gat a straight answer from those guys!
So off to Mustang I go with no intentions of buying a camper. I'm the kinda guy that isn't into shopping, I know what I want and get it and I'm gone! I no sooner turn the corner on the street that camper was on and it was already set up to view and I knew that was the one!
I tried to look like I was just 'kinda' interested but the excitement was to much. About 2 minutes into the walk around I bought it! The owner was a very nice gentlemen, retired brick mason, looking to upgrade to a travel trailer. He offered me everything and the kitchen sink that he had to go with the pop up.
I told him I would be back in a couple of days to pick it up and he could show me the procedures of setting it up. It being a Dutchmen and my old one was a Coleman Columbia I figured it would be nice to have him give me the run down.
When I arrived back to pick up the Dutch it was cold with a stiff north wind. The owner was in his garage putting on his coveralls as I pulled in. I walked into is garage and waited on him to finesh as he talked of just getting out of the hospital for pneumonia (?). Well needless to say I told him not to worry about showing me how to set it up and that I would figure it out and if I had any questions I would just call him and he could talk me thru it.
We proceeded to hook it up to my Jeep as we chit chatted about camping and hunting. What a super nice guy! Why can't every buying and selling transaction be this easy?!?!
Wasn't long til everything was done and it was time to say our goodbyes. I gave the man a serious hand shake and told him what a pleasure it was doing business with him and we parted ways.
This all happened about 2 months ago and I still remember every minute of the sale. Not that it will ever happen to any of you but if you have a chance to by something from the Oliver's in Mustang, Oklahoma don't hesitate. You will be getting some of the best treatment you can get.
So that is my story how I ended up with my new dutchmen. Now if I could just get the weather to warm up so I could use it .....well that would be wonderful!

September 14 Oklahoma Pop up tent & tent campers!!!Hello all,
I would like to start an Oklahoma pop up trailer and tent campers group on msn or yahoo. I have already started the pages and there are links on the start page on this website. I encourage anyone and everyone who enjoys camping and Oklahoma to join. I have lived in Oklahoma all my life (45 years) and probably haven't seen a quarter of what is out there. With this group myself and others could share information on campsites,deals at wal-mart,bass pro shops etc., modifications done to improve there camping life weather it's to there tent, pop up or tranport vehicle. The list goes on and on. I'm sure if we got this started it would be a success. It's just that I don't know that many people that enjoy camping and traveling as much as I do! If you do know someone who does send them this way or give them the link. Both sites can also be found by searching MSN groups for OKLAHOMA POP UP AND TENT CAMPING and YAHOO groups for the same. Well I hope to gather up a few members and get this rolling. Thanks for your time and your help.
